Opened in 2007, the Drug Rehabilitation Centre in Tunisia is operated by ATUPRET (Association Tunisienne de Prevention Contre la Toxicomanie) and is set up specifically to address youth addiction problems in Tunisia. The centre rehabilitates those suffering with drug addiction, gives medical care and seeks to re-integrate them back into Tunisian society. The centre acts as a much-needed safety net for those at risk from drug addiction in a country where state and private provision for such individuals is scarce.
