Central Asia Drug Action Program

This program is actually an EU (European Union) funded project, designed to help countries in Central Asia develop more effective and comprehensive policies on drugs. The program is particularly relevant at the moment, due to the influx of opiates from the ‘Golden Crescent’ and region into central and northern Europe. It is the mandate of the CADAP to encourage countries in central Asia to develop anti-drug policies that lead to a reduction in the production and export of narcotics from the region. At the same time, the program is actively gathering data to enable policy makers in the EU to develop legislation and socio-economic change that will encourage a reduction in the demand for narcotics within the EU.
