Africa Center for Strategic Studies

This organisation looks at all aspects of socio-economic policy on the African continent, including the growing, refining and use of narcotics across the region. It regularly releases reports concerning the growing problem of opiate production in sub-Saharan Africa, and the effects of drug trafficking particularly in West Africa. Because of the potentially volatile political situation in many African states and the increased threat of terrorism in countries such as Nigeria and Ghana, the ACSS pays particular attention to the criminal networks involved in the trafficking of drugs. It also reports as to their effect on communities in exceptionally poor regions of the continent.
