World Health Organization (WHO)

The WHO’s Expert Committee on Drug Dependence has a major influence in the policy-making decisions of the UN and other international bodies. While not directly addressing the logistics of the illegal trafficking of narcotics, the WHO regularly publishes recommendations and detailed scientific reports into the development of dependence-inducing drugs. It is also responsible for submitting reports to the UN’s Commission on Narcotic Drugs, including recommendations for the control of both licensed and illegal drugs.
